Wayne GOBERT OAM

Wayne Gobert
Wayne Gobert is a long term resident of Collaroy. He commenced his working life as a naval officer serving as Commanding Officer of HMAS BAYONET and Executive Officer of HMA ships PENGUIN, KUTTABUL, and WHYALLA. Other service included Head of The Navy’s Leadership School, participation in an Antarctic Expedition and working as a senior Intelligence Adviser.
In 2011 he received the Medal of The Order of Australia for his work in the community, and was recognised as one of the Navy’s Top 100 Achievers as part of the service’s Centenary Awards.
After leaving full time navy service he commenced a long career in Human Resources, creating his own local business that delivered programs in leadership, ethics, and business focussed Human Resources practices. He is also an Adjunct Faculty Member at Macquarie University’s Business School, a visiting lecturer at The Royal Australian Naval College and an experienced Facilitator and Executive Coach. He remains an active member of the Navy Reserve delivering programs in ethics and leadership.
Wayne is married to local award-winning artist Jacki Fewtrell-Gobert who taught Visual Arts at Pittwater House for 25 years.

Vanessa MOSKAL

Vanessa Moskal
Vanessa Moskal is a catalyst for long-term thinking on Warringah’s youth, environment and culture. Just 21 years old, Vanessa has been awarded by The Order of Australia with a Certificate of Commendation for Service to the Community, actively involved in a range of areas from science to the creative arts.
In Warringah, Vanessa is known locally for facilitating environmental-leadership programs as part of the annual OzGreen Australia’s YOUthLeading the World Congress, as well as for co-founding the non-profit community group Manly Musical Society when she was just 17 years old.
Abroad, Vanessa has represented Australia at the Children’s Summit in Hokkaido Japan. As well as represented NSW at the UNICEF Junior Roundtable on Children’s Rights in the Asia Pacific and at the National Youth Science Forum in Canberra. Studying a Bachelor of Political, Economic and Social Sciences at Sydney University, Vanessa is currently volunteering with the Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience to support young Aboriginal students in their education and cultural pride.
Vanessa was our Warringah Young Citizen of the Year for 2009. This 21 year old has a passion for her community and a commitment to developing compassionate youth. It’s YOUR Warringah: think forward.

Rohan FISHER

Rohan Fisher
Rohan Fisher has lived in the Warringah Area his whole life (Killarney Heights, Nth Curl Curl, Beacon Hill and now Narrabeen).
Rohan is President of the South Narrabeen Surf Life Saving Club, a position he has proudly served in for more than two years. He has been actively involved with the club for eight years and before that, he had been a member of the Freshwater Surf Life Saving Club since he was five years old. Rohan has been a volunteer lifesaver for 13 years and has been involved in a rowing crew for the last seven years.
Under Rohan's leadership, South Narrabeen achieved the title of "most improved club" for season 2011/2012.
One of the highlights of every season at South Narrabeen is hosting a group of Aboriginal kids from the town of Brewarrina in the Far West of NSW. Fifty kids who have never seen the ocean before spend an entire week at the club, making new friends and learning new skills and the smiles on their faces tell a thousand words. Rohan is also heavily involved with the Dee Why Lions Rugby Club as a player in the subbies team and also a coach of the opens age group. Rohan is passionate about the local area and will work hard to ensure the community is well represented on Council.
